RSSI lost my new dog

Hey readers!
I post on a slightly sad note today. On Friday, I got a 4 year old Malamute by the name of Chewy. We got the dog from a towing company in Denver. Unfortunately we didn’t get to have him very long.
Friday night, close to midnight, the dog ran away. Around midnight, a cop came to the neighborhood to break up a party going on at the house on the corner. When he tried to break it up, everybody scattered and he chased one person through our backyard. When he caught the person and left, he left the gate open and since the dog didn’t really realize that this was his new home, he ran away. We spent an hour searching all of the surrounding blocks in hopes of finding him but found nothing.
We have spent the past two days repeatedly checking the animal shelter in hopes that he would turn up. This morning I put an ad in the paper in hopes of having somebody find and return him. I have also posted to craigslist. I would post fliers too, but that is illegal around here. We have done basically everything we can think of to find him. I am going back to the animal shelter again today to look for him but I am not too optimistic at this point.
If I don’t hear anything from the newspaper ad in the next few days, I am likely going to get a new dog from the animal shelter since I already went and purchased all of the supplies for a dog.
This was the first time I have had a dog in a half dozen years or so and I was really excited to get the dog of my dreams (I am a huge huskey/malamute fan).
