Greetings everybody!
I am sorry for not posting on any of my blogs or podcasts in the past week. Things have been a tad busier than usual. After today, things should calm down and get back to normal.
That said, I am really wishing I had gone to SXSW. From what I have read on Twitter, it seems to be tons of fun. I really need to try to go to some conferences other than sci-fi conventions.
I have to retake my Cisco practical final today. I started to take it on Wednesday, but the switches and routers weren’t preconfigured as they were supposed to be, so I have to take it again tonight. I still have to do the setup stuff myself, but I have a little more time tonight as I had to leave early on Wednesday for a family event. I should have had time to complete it on Wednesday had things been setup the way they should have. I am trying not to dwell on it as it does no good. I am lacking in time tonight, but now that I know more of what to expect, I should be able to get things done in time.
Expect a blog post on the Global Geek News blog today and I will likely spend the rest of the day before class trying to get my Geek Podcasting Network website finished.
Back tomorrow!

Hello readers! Im sure the title of todays post gives it away. Fast food places continue to piss me off. I could care less about how healthy the food is. I don’t eat fast food to eat healthy and never will. What has me irritated is that you are lucky if you get all of your order or what you ordered in the first place.
Some restaurants around here are better than others, although it seems to be a universal problem in the fast food industry, I only get what I ordered about 50% of the time. The local Burger King and Wendy’s seem to be the worst offenders. You would think that with advanced technology we have today, that you could get a simple food order right the first time. It is very frustrating having to make multiple trips to get what I ordered and paid for in the first place, especially with the price of gas.
Until recently I stopped eating Wendy’s for several years because this area is so notorious for not getting what you order from them. One night I had to make three trips back to Wendy’s and still did not get what I ordered. After that, I stopped going their for close to 5 years. Recently I was forced to go back, only to find the food quality had dropped, but until today I was getting what I ordered. Apparently they didn’t learn from losing my business the first time.
This is my call to the fast food industry. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!! I don’t care if you have to outfit wrappers with RFID tags to get stuff right, but something needs to be done to insure the accuracy of a customers order. A burger and fries is not a complicated order. If you wish to have me as a customer, you will clean up your act!

Today was one of those cold, cloudy, snowy days that just make me want to sleep in. I can’t wait for spring. At least there is practically no snow as winds are supposed to be around 40mph all day. I really hope no customers show up as I dont want to have to go out in this blistering cold.
On the podcast front, I will record a Geek News Daily at the first chance I get today. I normally prefer to record in the morning, but as I mentioned, I slept in. Also the plan is to record a Global Geek News podcast tonight too. I might do a new Global Geek News blog today or tomorrow.
I am also creating a podcast network to house all my podcasts and likely take on the hosting of other podcasts upon request. I don’t know when I will get the website made for that, but when its ready, you will be able to find it at www.geekpodcastnetwork.com

For those of you that didn’t notice, I uploaded the latest Geek News Daily yesterday afternoon. I was about 15 min early to class yesterday afternoon so I recorded it in the hall while waiting for the teacher. Since I appeared to be talking to nobody, I’m sure several people thought I was nuts, but I don’t care. Give it a listen at www.geeknewsdaily.com
I also have hopes of recording at least one Global Geek News this week although Im not sure when. I plan on doing a Mac edition of the show while not exclusively talking Mac will be heavily Apple focused.
I also wrote a blog yesterday on how HD-DVD can lose the war but still succeed the dvd. Its an interesting read, so check it out at www.globalgeeknews.blogspot.com
Now that the self promotion is out of the way, here is the story of my pants that I promised yesterday. It started about a week ago when I had some jeans which were shot and had developed a large hole around the left back pocket. I had planned on throwing them away, but apparently I threw them into the laundry instead. Sunday morning I grabbed a pair of clean jeans for church and not paying any attention to what pair I grabbed other than the color, I accidentally grabbed the pair of jeans. Nobody noticed the holes as there were also holes on the other side and in the crotch before I walked out the door. Before driving on to church, we stopped for breakfast as is Sunday morning tradition. It was at this time my grandpa noticed the baseball sized hole in the seat of my pants. Considering I was open for the world to see, I was happy to be wearing underwear. I certainly couldn’t go to church like this, so after picking up breakfast, I had to go home and change. I had hoped the story would end there, but it doesn’t.
Apparently my grandpa mentioned to my pastor about my pants and why we were almost late because of them. Considering I had ripped the crotch out of my pants when bowling with my pastors family a couple years ago, It wasn’t that big of deal. Then my pastor decided to announce it to the entire church. He didn’t specify what had happened, just told everybody to ask me about it. At that point when church was over, I got out as fast as I could before I was bombarded with questions. Luckily the only person to ask me what happened was my pastor’s wife. It was a rather embarrassing day. Hopefully I won’t have people bombard me with questions about it next week. Just another one of life’s little moments.

I just got done dealing with yet more idiot customers. Working for a towing service, many of our customers tend to fit that description. Well this group of ladies was worse than what I have had to deal with lately. What I assume to be the womans daughter got into an accident over the holiday for driving drunk while texting (true winners as I’m sure you can tell). Well apparently there were a bunch of keys on her keychain for all kinds of things that likely went flying during the accident as windows were broken. For some reason she thinks that I am the drivers keeper and should find out if he spotted anymore keys. While I don’t mind doing this, I got a tad bit irritated when she told me I should also call the cop that dealt with the accident to find the keys. This was one lady that refused to take no for an answer. Eventually I just shut up and stopped trying to argue as it was doing little good. I figure if she really wants her keys, she will get off her lazy butt and call the cops herself. I’m glad I don’t get people like that very often.
Anyway, enough complaining about stupid, lazy people. The latest Geek News Daily podcast is now up. That is show #6 for those that are counting. As usual, you should listen to it at www.geeknewsdaily.com. Speaking of podcasts, the Global Geek News podcast didn’t get recorded yesterday yet again as my co-host and guest were MIA. Me and my co-host are hoping that Justine can do it later tonight. Time will tell.
For those that have article recommendations for the Global Geek News blog, please send them to me at pcnerd37@globalgeeknews.com as I am always looking for new ideas.
Back tomorrow!
