Greetings Readers!

For those who haven’t heard from all my Twitter posts, I have finally entered the world of phones with color screens. This week I recieved a new Blackberry 7100i. I love it!

It was a pain to get going at first as I had to sit in the phone story for around an hour before they were able to get the phone activated and working. Once everything was working, I went home to discover I didnt have things that I should have with the Blackberry, including email and a browser. After a call to tech support, it turns out my plan was never switched over so I had no data on the current plan. After about 20 minutes on the phone, that was fixed and I was good to go.

Since then, I have downloaded several applications including Opera Mini, a Skype client, a Windows Live Messenger client, an AIM client and an IRC client. I also have it set up to check my gmail accounts and sync with my Google calander. This makes is already making my life easier and making me a more organized person. While its no iPhone, since I had to have a phone with Nextel’s Direct Connect, it was the best thing I could get.

In the past I have always been satisfied with a phone whos only function was that it could make and recieve calls. I never had any desire to have anything more. Only having the device for 3 days, I am already dependent on it. I highly recommend this phone and expect it will see a ton of use, especially now that I have a bluetooth headset for it.
