I got a new phone!
Greetings Readers!
For those who haven't heard from all my Twitter posts, I have finally entered the world of phones with color screens. This week I recieved a new Blackberry 7100i. I love it!
It was a pain to get going at first as I had to sit in the phone story for around an hour before they were able to get the phone activated and working. Once everything was working, I went home to discover I didnt have things that I should have with the Blackberry, including email and a browser. After a call to tech support, it turns out my plan was never switched over so I had no data on the current plan. After about 20 minutes on the phone, that was fixed and I was good to go.
Since then, I have downloaded several applications including Opera Mini, a Skype client, a Windows Live Messenger client, an AIM client and an IRC client. I also have it set up to check my gmail accounts and sync with my Google calander. This makes is already making my life easier and making me a more organized person. While its no iPhone, since I had to have a phone with Nextel's Direct Connect, it was the best thing I could get.
In the past I have always been satisfied with a phone whos only function was that it could make and recieve calls. I never had any desire to have anything more. Only having the device for 3 days, I am already dependent on it. I highly recommend this phone and expect it will see a ton of use, especially now that I have a bluetooth headset for it.

Glenn Beck ‘08
Greetings Readers!
Last night I had the great opportunity to go see the Glenn Beck show at the local movie theater, and I can honestly say it was the best thing I have EVER seen in a movie theater!
For those of you who don't know who Glenn Beck is, he is a talk show host that has both a nationally syndicated radio show and television show that brings a common sense approach to political issues. Unlike many talk radio personalities, I find him to be very enertaining and he has a very common sense point of view on virtually every issue worth caring about which I really like as its hard to find common sense these days.
While I initially thought that $20 for the show seemed a bit much, it didnt take long to realize it was probably the best money I have spent in a long time. Glenn has a remarkable way of taking the insane ideas that have become common in todays world and making a joke out of them while at the same time presenting them in a very common sense way that is almost impossible to argue with.
His patriotic spirit had both him and much of the crowd in tears at the end of the show. It was one of the most inspiring things I have ever seen.
If you ever get the chance to see a Glenn Beck show, I highly recommend it as it is probably one of the best possible ways you can spend you evening.

Preparing to move to Seattle
Greetings readers!
For those wondering where I have gone, I am still around but have just been working on trying to get things ready to move to Seattle in the next couple of weeks.
I would like to try to do one more Global Geek News podcast before I move but I dont know if that will happen. If not, I hope to start all of my podcasts back shortly after moving. My only real online activity has been on my Twitter account, FriendFeed account and the Global Geek News Blog which I have been working on regularly. I will begin posting here more starting today. I plan to change the direction of this blog a little bit from what is and has been going on to what am I thinking and basically another less in depth extension of the Global Geek News Blog.
If anybody needs to contact me for any reason, I can always be reached at pcnerd37@globalgeeknews.com. I will be blogging soon about my experience with a Blackberry 7100i that I will be getting this week. I will be updating as often as I can.
