My new .Audio 450’s are garbage
Hello readers!
As many of you know, I recently purchased the Plantronics .Audio 450's that I use to record my podcasts when at work. Unfortunately as nice as they were, they broke into pieces today. I went to pull them out of my laptop bag to find that the left ear piece had somehow busted into three pieces. While they weren't the most comfortable earphones in the world, I never wished this fate upon them.
If anybody has a recommendation for a compact, light weight, good headset w/mic, I would love to hear it! I am considering getting 450's again as they fit well in my laptop bag. Got thoughts? Put them in the comments!
World View meeting at church
Hello Readers,
Between now and Wesdnesday, I will do my best at updating, but I forgot that this week is the week that every night until Thursday, I am going to be at church for a seminar on World Views. The first three of the lectures were yesterday and there are still three more to go.
I have found this seminar very interesting as I have spent countless hours learning about ancient civilizations, how they viewed the world and how their veiw had an impact on the world around them.
I will do my best to keep up to date on my blogs through this, but im not sure if I will have time for podcasts. I will get a new Unofficial Mahalo Podcast out sometime at the first part of this week but I dont know when. If I can squeeze it in, starting tomorrow I would like to get back into doing Geek News Daily podcasts. Im not sure if my Global Geek News podcast will get to start back up this week, but I am hopefull.
I will post here for updates and to let you know what is going on. Until then, I recommend following me on Twitter to know what is going on as it happens.

Today is blog upgrade day!

For those of you that use wordpress and haven't noticed, a new version of the popular blogging platform has been released, 2.5.1! I have spent the better part of the last hour upgrading all my blogs to the latest version. After that, I went through and upgraded all my plugins.
Now that all my blogs are up to date, I feel more inclined to post. Expect a new Global Geek News Blog today and a new Unofficial Mahalo Podcast sometime this weekend!
Geek News Daily will start back up next week and Global Geek News is likely to as well!
StarFest 2008
Hello readers!
For those that didn't know, I spent my Sunday at this years StarFest in Denver. While I had a great time, it wasn't as good as in the past. There seemed to be far fewer people dressed up this year as in the past. I wasn't as impressed with this years guest list as in years past, but I did enjoy meeting Nana Visitor. She was extremely nice and very funny.
I ended up spending far more money than I had intended. Not only did I get Nana Visitors autograph and my picture taken with her, but I also ended up with a Battlestar Galactica shirt, and an Underworld poster that is being shipped to me. I saw a picture that was autographed by the cast of Star Trek Deep Space Nine that I really wanted, but it was nearly $1500.
Although wheeling my mother around in the wheelchair wasn't very fun, the lunch we had was great. The event was at the Marriott hotel which apparently makes great food. I had the Marriott Burger which I can honestly say was the best burger I have ever had. The put these really thick, juicy slices of bacon on an already big burger which made it amazing. I wish I could eat there more often.
That is pretty much all I have to say about the convention, but expect a Unofficial Mahalo Podcast to be up today and likely a Geek News Daily as well.

I am sick of Cisco
As I have mentioned on here before, I am working on getting my Cisco CCNA cert. I'm starting to give up on that idea even though I have already paid for the classes. I have been suffering major Cisco burnout since the third semester and haven't even gone to class so far this fourth semester, and I assume finals week is two weeks away.
I no longer care about this stuff and seem to be having a hard time retaining the information. As of right now, I have no plans to get my cert even if I manage to pass the class. While I'm sure most of the information is valid, I don't think its something I am interested in anymore. The large number of mistakes and non working e-labs in the curriculum have also caused much frustration with the course.
My last issue with the course is that the material is not presented in a consistent manner. Some of the material feels rushed and not presented in an easy to understand manner, while other information feels more like useless background information rather than important facts.
I'm at a point where I don't know if I should rush like mad to try to finish the class, or say screw it and forget about it.

My life is insane! Here is whats going on.
Hello readers!
Im sure you all have been wondering what has happened to me, where I have been and what is going on with my podcasts, so this is to catch you up on everything.
A little over too weeks ago, my mother had foot surgery, so I have had to be her nurse 24/7 for the past 2 weeks and for 4 more weeks to come. She is able to move a bit now, so I am not having to do quite as much as I was.
In other, more sad news, my grandpa passed away last Wednesday. The funeral was this past Sunday. That had me a bit preoccupied for much of last week.
With the exception of my parents divorce, things seem to be calming down a bit now. I should begin podcasting and blogging back to normal starting next week.
I posted a new Global Geek News blog today and hope to do a podcast next week. I hope to see start doing Geek News Daily podcasts next week as well.
For those that haven't heard, last week I managed to launch my newest podcast as well as my Geek Podcasting Network. The new podcast is called the Unofficial Mahalo Podcast, focused around the new human powered search engine, Mahalo.com. If you haven't heard it, check it out, as I believe it is one of my best podcasts so far.
As I just mentioned, I launched my Geek Podcasting Network last week. I started the network for three reasons. #1 I wanted to bring all my podcasts under one network, a place where I can promote all of them and that would more easily identify them with me. #2 Saying that I own a podcasting network looks good on business cards and my resume. I will admit this is a bit of a selfish reason, but I am proud of my podcasts and had always hoped they would propel me to bigger and better things. Finally, #3 I want to give hosting opportunities to hopeful podcasters. I will allow accepted podcasters to have their own website and hosting in exchange for running my ads (to pay my costs) and to promote other podcasts on the network (to benefit everybody on the network). What is going on with me
Greetings readers!
I know I haven't blogged on here or podcasted lately, but life has been very busy. Combined with having issues from installing a new hard drive in my laptop, my productivity has come to a virtual standstill.
I have been posting pretty regularly on my Global Geek News blog, so check that out. I will try to start posting here more often.
As far as podcasts go, once I get my laptop up and running again which will hopefully be sometime today, I will start doing podcasts again. I have found a new co-host for my Global Geek News podcast which I assume will start on the next show. More on that Later.
I also am throwing around an idea of another weekly podcast that I will talk about soon.
